Join us for an immersive arts-based workshop designed for NYU instructors teaching with this year’s NYU Reads title, Clint Smith’s How the Word Is Passed: A Reckoning with the History of Slavery across America. This hour-long session will review the related research guide and discuss creative learning strategies for engaging students with the text’s themes, including community, language, land, and resilience, in relation to the history and legacies of slavery in the U.S.
This session will be held via Zoom. The Zoom access link will be shared after registration is complete.
