Sharing Your Research Openly Through Self-Archiving Online

Are you looking to make your scholarly article freely accessible to the public? In this workshop, we will go over the basics of the Open Access movement in research, with a focus on self-archiving, sometimes called “Green Open Access.” Self-archiving is a pathway to make one’s research freely accessible that does not require payment. Participants in the workshop will learn about some benefits of Open Access for research, and what they need in order to self-archive. This workshop is intended for faculty and graduate students, but all are welcome. Registration is recommended; the workshop will be held on Zoom at https://nyu.zoom.us/j/91700283772

This workshop celebrates International Open Access Week, an opportunity for researchers to connect and learn about the landscape of open access, and to work towards making open access a norm in scholarship. The theme for Open Access Week 2024 is “Community Over Commercialization,” which encourages scholars to come together to build an open scholarship movement that prioritizes scholars’ needs and interests over profit.
