Better Design for Busy People In-Person

Design is more than just aesthetics—it’s a powerful tool for communication. Whether you’re creating teaching materials, presentation slides, or content for a conference, design plays a crucial role in helping your audience understand and engage with your message. This workshop is designed for busy people who may not have a design background but want to create more visually effective, accessible, and user-friendly content.

In this hands-on session, we’ll cover:

  • Design Basics: Get introduced to key design principles such as alignment, contrast, hierarchy, and spacing, and learn how these concepts help improve the clarity and effectiveness of your content.
  • Creating Accessible Content: Learn how to make your designs accessible to all users, including those with visual impairments or other accessibility needs. We’ll cover font choices, color contrast, and layout tips to ensure your materials are easy to read and navigate.
  • Easy-to-Use Design Tools: Discover a suite of free or low-cost design tools that don’t require advanced skills. We’ll explore tools for creating engaging presentations, infographics, posters, and more—tools you can use to improve your materials quickly and efficiently.
  • Practical Tips for Busy People: Understand how to streamline your design process so you can create high-quality materials in less time. Learn simple techniques to enhance your content without spending hours on design work.
  • Real-Life Applications: Whether you're working on a classroom presentation, workshop materials, or marketing content, this workshop will provide you with strategies to apply design principles in a practical and time-efficient way.

This session is perfect for educators, presenters, students, or anyone who needs to create effective, visually appealing content but doesn’t have the time or expertise to dive deep into design. You’ll leave with the confidence to create more professional-looking materials.

Who Should Attend:

  • Students working on class projects, presentations, or papers
  • Educators and instructors looking to improve their classroom materials
  • Conference presenters or speakers who want more engaging slides
  • Anyone responsible for creating documents, reports, or digital content for an audience
  • Busy professionals or non-designers who want simple, accessible design tools for their projects

Join us for a practical workshop that will offer you tools to transform your content into something visually engaging, accessible, and easier for your audience to understand!
