DIY Research: Exploring practical guidebooks from NYU Libraries In-Person
Did you know that NYU Libraries can help you learn creative and practical skills, such as cooking, working with textile, crafting, or gardening? The library provides free access to knitting patterns, recipes, and DIY guides that can help kickstart your creative journey. In this workshop, we will explore strategies for conducting DIY research in a variety of areas. We will also discuss what makes our holdings different and how our academic and historical collections can lend your project a unique perspective.
In this workshop you will learn how to:
- Locate DIY resources through intermediate catalog search strategies
- Assess the usefulness and appropriateness of DIY research materials for your project by locating and contextualizing information about the items
