So You Want a Website: An AMA with Open Knowledge Online
Whether you've been meaning to build a personal site for years or you're just starting to wonder what's even possible, this session is for you. Bring your questions — no topic is too basic.
In this open Ask Me Anything session, we'll be prepared to tackle the questions students and faculty ask most: What exactly is a static site? What's the difference between NYU's WordPress and wordpress.org? How do you purchase a domain name — and what does that even mean? Are there free or low-cost alternatives to Squarespace or Wix? And yes, can AI actually help you build a website?
Come curious. Leave with a clearer sense of your options and a path forward.
Join A.M. Alpin, Librarian for Creative & Public Scholarship, and Kayhan Qaiser, Graduate Digital Scholarship Specialist in the Open Knowledge department, for an hour of your questions answered.
